R&D

At the moment, Keliber and its partners are conducting several research and development projects related to the development of the Central Ostrobothnia lithium province. In addition a couple of new projects are underway. You will find the most important below.

The Lithium project
 This project is commissioned by the University of Oulu and the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius. The objective of the project is to develop new ways of further refining lithium carbonate into lithium battery chemicals. The costs of the project are EUR 346,000, mainly funded by TEKES, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation together with industrial participants.

Geological Development Model for the Efficient Utilization of Lithium Deposits in Central Ostrobothnia.
This project is commissioned by the University of Helsinki, Department of Geology. The costs of the project are EUR 190,000 and it is mainly funded by the Academy of Finland.

The Spodula II project.
The project is commissioned by the University of Oulu, and it examines the conversion temperatures of spodumene minerals in the lithium province of Central Ostrobothnia. The costs of the project are EUR 25,000 and the financier is K.H. Renlund Foundation.
